Neon Habits Album Release

Shelley Star and the Galaxy, Ari Voxx & The Sad Lads, Sol Reactor

About the event

Neon Habits is an energetic Pop Rock band based in Washington, DC. They write fun, upbeat music that blends an eclectic mix of funk and R&B that people can dance to. They incorporate a variety of genres and explore different creative backgrounds to celebrate life and diverse interests, touching on themes such as love, introspection, and unapologetically expressing yourself. Comprised of five nerdy musicians, they encountered each other on their individual journeys and have united on a quest to slay and serve up amazing music! Their first single, “More Than Friends,” released in February 2024 with over 1,000 streams on Spotify in less than two weeks, and 600+ monthly listeners. Their debut album, Big Things, is out now on all streaming services!

Shelley Star & The Galaxy are making cosmic waves in Washington, DC, bringing out-of-this-world lyrics, vibrant pop-rock melodies, and theatrical flair to the Nation’s capital. The enigmatic Shelley Star powerfully belts and stomps the stage in platform space boots while high-octane musicians “The Galaxy” shred by her side. The band takes musical inspiration from icons such as Lady Gaga, ABBA, and David Bowie, and their style comes from deep roots in the art of drag.

Ari Voxx is DC’s Dreamy Pop Princess. Well-versed in many different music worlds, she focuses on writing music that is eclectic and authentically her, transcending genres. With a sound heavily inspired by the moods and vibes of 80s/90s new-wave and pop artists, a performance from Ari Voxx and The Sad Lads casts a nostalgic atmosphere over the listener. Expect to experience misty soundwaves propelled by pulsating beats, generously draped with precise, dynamic vocals.

Sol Reactor refines inter-galactic radio waves into a unique and concise blend of alt-rock, stoner-rock, and mathy-grooves. By harnessing the power of alchemical riff technology, Sol Reactor offers an eclectic take on familiar styles ranging from punk to bossa nova.
