Capital Turnaround: Our Story

Before it was a hub for stellar live entertainment, The Theatre at Capital Turnaround was a hub for D.C.’s streetcar network, playing a crucial role in the city’s booming growth during the early 20th century. Having weathered years of abandonment, changing economies, changing technology, and changing cultural priorities (not to mention changing centuries), this revitalized National Register of Historic Places list member has now made a name for itself as a vital part of DC’s nationally-renowned entertainment scene.

Transformed into a versatile, state-of-the-art live entertainment venue, Capital Turnaround’s 900-seat performance space brings stand up titans like Ali Siddiq, Tim Hiedecker, Hannibal Burress, and Ari Shaffir, live music from the likes of Bill Callahan and Warpaint, podcasting from Betches and Ride, and more up close and personal with the quality and intimacy unmatched in the DMV.
