DMV Takeover: A night of tunes with Chris App, Coral Bank Hollow, and Left Bench

Coral Bank Hollow, Left Bench

About the event

Band from Baltimore. Not banned from Baltimore (yet). Left Bench aims for the audience to have as much fun as they do on stage. Since bursting onto the scene with the release of their debut album, Treehouse, in December 2025, Left Bench hasn't slowed down! After playing shows throughout the East Coast and headlining numerous iconic venues, they're excited to continue their summer/fall tour and release new music soon. We're looking forward to seeing you at a show near you, and we hope you'll be a benchwarmer with us.

Coral Bank Hollow is an indie rock band formed at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. What started as late-night jam sessions and local college shows quickly turned into a group gigging three to four nights a week, writing constantly, and building momentum show by show across the regional college music scene. Blending each member’s different musical background into a sound of their own, Coral Bank Hollow creates the kind of atmosphere that keeps crowds moving from the first song to the last. Over the past two years, the band has expanded beyond Blacksburg, sharing stages with acts including Congress The Band, Harvey Street, and The Band Solstice while continuing to grow its catalog of original music and live following.

Indie rock guitar riffs paired with bluesy fuzz and grit, dancing with elements of funk, reggae, and surfy psychedelia -- Chris App is forging a new and unique sound in the indie rock space. With strong inspiration from guitar-wielding icons John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., Ocean Alley, Tash Sultana, and The Black Keys, he is able to strike a balance between free-spirited indie rock with disciplined, yet creative, blues rock and indie pop. With a versatile talent for combining his catchy, blues-infused guitar riffs with a vocal style ranging from smooth, harmonized tones to gritty, rock-inspired singing, Chris App's bluesy motifs are the defining foundation to his improv, solo-heavy style that is conducive to new and unique melodies during his live performances.
