Georgetown Day School Jazz & Creative Music celebrates Black American Music from New Orleans, New York, Chicago, and beyond. Each year, five curricular ensembles investigate classic jazz masters including Duke Ellington, Charlie Mingus, Sun Ra, Billie Holiday, Waye Shorter and others before adding their own ideas and approaches to pop songs and originals. This performance features two senior upper level bands, directed by Brad Linde.
