About the event

BETTY

EAT, Drink & Be Merry for Tomorrow!

Ring in the holiday bells with BETTY in a feast for all senses! The long-time indie band returns to their original hometown with the brand-new album, EAT, and a seasonal celebration of songs, stories, and harmonies smooth and hooky as candy canes. Fronted by Alyson Palmer and sisters Elizabeth and Amy Ziff, BETTY’s distinct music is in fun places everywhere, including the theme songs of Showtime’s The L Word and HBO’s Encyclopedia, the Michael J Fox and Nathan Lane holiday classic, Life With Mikey, and the new Off-Broadway hit, BABE, starring Marisa Tomei and Gracie McGraw. Artist activists for over 38 years, the women of BETTY are State Department Arts Envoys who travel the world with their non-profit, The BETTY Effect, to empower girls, women and marginalized communities. After their Kennedy Center appearance this past August, BETTY is thrilled to return to DC to share cheer and sleigh. helloBETTY.com.

Emma G

Emma G is a dynamic author, two-time TEDx speaker, singer-songwriter, and empowerment coach who harnesses the transformative power of music to inspire, uplift, and empower audiences across the globe.

Having just completed a 20-date, 15-state tour in partnership with Hard Rock Cafe, Emma G continues to share her powerful message through her latest album, “Fight the Fear,” and her recent books: “Reconnect with Your Teenager: A Parent’s Guide to Help Your Stressed or Anxious Kid Using the Art of Songwriting” and the interactive teen workbook “From Pain to Playlist: Turning Struggles into Song.”

Emma G’s journey is deeply personal and incredibly inspiring. Born with hydrocephalus, a rare neurological condition that has led to ten brain surgeries, she has used songwriting as her outlet for healing and self-expression, turning her struggles into songs that resonate with diverse audiences. Her music blends pop, soulful ballads, and gritty rock, delivering authentic and impactful messages that connect deeply with teens and their parents alike.

Emma G’s work extends beyond the stage. In 2023, she launched a project to release a song each month, each tied to a social justice or mental health cause, such as anti-bullying, addiction, depression, and homelessness. Her song “Barbed Wire,” which raises awareness about abuse and sexual assault, earned a Silver Telly award for its impactful music video. She also launched her non-profit “YES Youth Coaching”, which is dedicated to helping teens identity, understand, process and express their thoughts and ideas effectively through the writing of original songs.

As an award-winning musician and influencer, Emma G is committed to creating meaningful connections and guiding others to find their voices and their power through music. “My goal is to save the world one song at a time—both through the music I compose and the songs I help teenagers write. Through my music, I aim to motivate, spread love, and embrace authenticity, helping individuals rediscover their true selves.”

Emma G’s music, message and mission have been recognized by Fox, The Washington Post, and Thrive Global, and she continues to inspire change through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, keynote speaking, and performances.
